WHEN WOODY MET JOANNA…

In December, we ran the first competition to design a hat for our patron, JOANNA LUMLEY OBE to wear whilst presenting at the SSAFA carol concert. Joanna looked stunning in a very handsome red felt and sinamay hat designed and made by Woody Whittick of She’s All That (pictured).

...Felt hats are so called by a pun, because they never have a nap at any time; they are always wide awake…

Woody’s design was reminiscent of slouch hats worn by the Chindits who fought in the Far East during the Second World War. The reference was incredibly appropriate as this year’s SSAFA service commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War with particular recognition of those who fought in the Burma Campaign.

The competition proved very popular with Guild members and Joanna was overwhelmed with the quality of design and presentation of the entries.

Keep an eye on this newspage for details of the next competition.

She’s All That goes from strength to strength as Woody has just been asked to design the tiara for this year’s Miss World.
